Before I had my three girls (now 8,6 1/2, 3 1/2) I was an elementary school teacher. I taught kindergarten, first, and second grades.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that as an adult I would have two main roles: school teacher and mother. I have come to find out that these two roles are inseparable. I am on a quest to make parents slow down, enjoy their kids, and realize that they are the best and most qualified teachers in their childrens’ lives.
You can take the teacher out of the classroom...

Hi Denise, I really enjoyed reading your thoughts. I agree with you about motherhood and being a teacher at heart – the roles are inseparable. I remember how wonderful it was to have you in my classroom at SSDS. You were a natural teacher. You sound so happy and fulfilled as a mom.
